“That’s pretty good...for a girl.”
I can remember showing my hand-drawn illustration to my professor and him saying those exact words. Fast-forward to an interview I had for a graphic design position where I was asked if I really did draw it myself.
Yes, she is mine. I created a bar/restaurant to showcase my drawing but also my ability to use photoshop to bring this business to life and make it feel real!

I worked with Paul Werth Associates (a PR & Marketing agency here in Columbus, Ohio) to create some pieces for Columbus State Community College. They were running a campaign that had a bunch of doodles - but the doodles had a story behind them. I created the tumbler, mousepad, and notebook design. The story starts at the top middle (the power icon) and flows clockwise; almost as if you’re a college student as CSCC and what your day might look like. GO COUGARS!

This one is hard to talk about. But here we go. My husband and I sold our home in spring 2021 to buy a bed and breakfast on the coast of Georgia. We fell in love with this little beach town (which is a top filming location; The Last Song, Magic Mike XXL, Devotion; to name a few). I knew I wanted to bring an upscale-resort feel to the island as most places have a laid back, beach cottage vibe. It was also a wedding venue so I wanted every space to be picture perfect and stunning. Our tagline would’ve been “Collect beautiful moments”.
I created a lot of pieces knowing that when we got the keys there wouldn’t be a lot of time to design and think it through thoroughly. Sadly, we were unable to obtain the Inn and hope to one day cross paths with something similar in the future.

These images were created as a test to see if I could use my own resources to create ads that were designed better than the ones Zuke’s currently has on Amazon, Walmart, etc.
I created images to showcase what the treat looks like, the size of the treat, and created images that resembled their branding instead of using text on a white background. These are called Marketing Tile Specs, Mobile Ready Hero Images, and A+ Content (for Amazon).

I had the pleasure in working with Paul Werth Associates to create Social Ads for the Ohio Department of Commerce. This campaign was called Recovery Within Reach and it was to help those who struggle with addiction and the financial burden that comes along with that.

UX means user experience, how the user feels and navigates through your app/website - and UI means the design on the app, how it looks and how easy it is to navigate due to size/color of buttons/text.
When I went to college for Graphic Design, (I am about to age myself here) there was not a smart phone. We had flip phones back then and had to push the number 2 three times to get the letter c to show up when texting. I took the self-initiative to grow my tool box and gain the knowledge to build an app. I completed a course through Google and gained a UX/UI Certificate.
I created a food ordering app in Figma for a beach snack shop. I wanted it to be a super clean design so the users who are on the go; trying to remember the sunscreen, towels, etc; can order easily to get them to the beach quicker. I added a few images of how in depth this process can be with market research, learning who my persona is, and creating wireframes that would eventually become the colorful app.

Did you know hand lettering is muscle memory? You can learn it! I taught myself hand lettering in 2015 and began teaching it in 2016. I loved the creative outlet that it gave me. I could hand letter anywhere at any time.
It is an awesome feeling to see your hand lettering on pieces that are used for real businesses.

Interior Design
When I need a break from the digital world I am known to start a home renovation project or organize a closet. I love using my design skills outside of a computer. Whether it’s designing a new layout of walls or furniture, designing wedding decor, or designing the function of a closet; I love designing and coming up with solutions to problems.
